Howler Monkey in Guanacaste Costa Rica

Hummingbirds are regular visitors to the hotel, to feed from the flowers in the garden. We also visited by motmots, fly catchers, blue-throated magpie-jays and woodpeckers. Our exotic garden also attracts beautiful butterflies. Circling high in the sky you may see vultures, frigate birds and the occasional bird of prey. Parakeets pass by every afternoon en route to their nesting sites. On the beach you may see pelicans, spoonbills or cranes

  Iguanas at Conchal Hotel

Iguanas and lizards are frequently seen resting on the walls. Local mammals include foxes, coatis, raccoons and armadillos. Troops of howler monkeys can be sighted, but more often their distinctive calls are heard.

Marine visitors include whales (seasonal), breaking their migratory journey in Brasilito bay. Snorkelling sightings include turtles, moray eels, cardinal fish, puffer fish and grouper.
